First of all, Dental Bridge bridges the gap created by a missing teeth. There are two crowns on either side of the gap called abutment teeth and a false teeth between the two called pontics. Natural teeth or implants supports these dental bridges.

If you are considering dental bridges, there are different types you could choose from. First is the most common type of bridge, traditional bridges. This involves creating a crown for your tooth on either side of your missing tooth with a false teeth in the center. You can choose either bridge made of ceramics or a porcelain fused to metal. Next is cantilever bridges which is only used if there are adjacent teeth to just one side of the missing tooth. Last is the Maryland bridge or resin-bonded bridge wherein metal wings are bonded on each side of the bridge in your teeth. This is usually made of plastic teeth and gums to support the metal framework.
